Another South Australian First - Introducing City Feels Adelaide!
City Feels Adelaide is a pilot initiative and world first, being trialed during Gather Round 2025. It is designed to keep people out and about by tapping into the ‘mood economy’ matching patrons with venues that reflect their vibe.
The City Feels Adelaide App has been created with the aim of maximising bookings, increasing length of stay and spending, and promoting exclusive hotel-driven offers in and around our CBD. The app uses data about how people feel in order to drive growth in our hotels and entertainment sector.
Powered by the Surreal Platform (Venue / Hotels side)
To get a free listing on City Feels, venues must register on the Surreal platform by COB Wednesday 26 March.
Surreal is simple and effective software to organise live entertainment in your venue. It can do administration tasks behind entertainment operations to help your venues save time, money, and assist in getting a better return from the entertainment you provide.
Information about your venue in Surreal is then gathered by the City Feels App for public display.

About the City Feels App (Public / Customer side)
City Feels is supported by the State Government and will be rolled out via QR codes and key partnerships with Adelaide Airport, Universities, and the Advertiser.
City Feels pulls your venue’s information from what you’ve uploaded into Surreal and categorized into 5 key mood states inviting the user to select a venue that matches the vibe they’re seeking – this could be pumped, happy, chilled, quirky, or reflective.
Based on the user input in City Feels, the App will then recommend venues that closely align with how they would currently like to ‘feel’ Adelaide.
We always encourage members to look at any added opportunities that our industry can leverage to enhance the visitor experience during our major events.
Should City Feels Adelaide be successful during Gather Round 2025, the group have plans to extend the campaign and create an enduring ‘always on’ initiative for Adelaide.
