“At AHA|SA, our team is made up of highly skilled professionals with expertise across every area of the industry. Their knowledge and dedication ensure our members receive the very best advice, support, and service — every step of the way.”

About Us

Founded in 1871, the Australian Hotels Association (SA Branch) has been at the heart of South Australia’s hospitality and tourism industry for more than 150 years. We’re proud to represent and support the state’s hoteliers — from country pubs to five-star hotels and resorts — and to champion the vibrant role hotels play in our communities.

With 630 hotels across South Australia, our members reflect the true diversity of the industry. Whether you’re stopping in for a meal at your local pub, enjoying a weekend getaway, or attending an event at a luxury venue, you’ll see the value of our members’ commitment to excellence every day.

What We Do

Our dedicated team of experts is here to guide and support members across all aspects of hotel operations. We provide advice and advocacy on:

  • Legislative and licensing matters

  • Gaming and responsible gambling

  • Industrial relations and insurance

  • Community engagement and industry standards

We’re also recognised nationally for our strong political and industrial lobbying, ensuring the voices of South Australian hoteliers are always heard.

Our Mission

At AHA|SA, our mission is simple: to foster excellence across South Australia’s hotel industry. We do this by supporting our members with resources, representation, and opportunities to thrive — so that together, we can deliver world-class service, facilities, and experiences for locals and visitors alike.

How We’re Governed

The Association is guided by a Council of elected representatives drawn from 19 regions across South Australia. Every hotel has a say, with each member able to nominate a proxy to vote in annual elections.

The Council elects its office bearers — President, Vice-President, Deputy Vice-President, and Secretary/Treasurer — and appoints an Executive Council to oversee key decisions. Accommodation hotels are also represented through the Accommodation Division Chairman, ensuring all voices in the industry are heard.
